Episode 136: We Are All Connected: Mental Health and the Paranormal with Jason Ruehl, Todd Purse and Dasos the Bard

“We Are All Connected” Digital Art, Barbara Fisher, 2023

Hello, Kellians!

This is a special episode recorded by a group of podcasters and friends on the subject of mental health and the paranormal, exploring the impact of our interest in weird stuff on our moods, emotions, and thoughts.

It’s full of real talk—open and vulnerable sharing of our struggles, our successes, sorrows and happiness. It’s hard to be so open, but we realized when we reach out with honest empathy, that we are all connected. We hope that it helps our listeners know at least that if they struggle, they, too, are not alone.

Because it’s full of real talk, be warned that we do discuss some difficult topics here: PTSD, trauma, familial dysfunction, family violence—so if these topics upset you, try sitting this one would. Come back next week when we go back to our usual format.

Jason Ruehl, the podcaster behind The Esoteric Book Club hosted and did the editing on this episode—he did a great job, and we’re all thankful he did it. Todd Purse posted it to his podcast, Create Magic, on Saturday—and today, it’s my turn.

Dasos the Bard doesn’t have a podcast, but he sure has some wise words to share with us, and I’m happy to have him on this roundtable. He also has some nice handmade jewelry, hand spun wool and wands on Etsy.

We decided to name the core group here, Weirdos of the Round Table, and we’ll keep experimenting with these round table discussions, sharing them on all of our podcasts and having a good time. We might make some other content at some point, too.

I hope you like this episode, it was a labor of love for the four of us.
