Episode 36: Disclosure! With Greg Bishop
Here we are, a day late and hopefully not a dollar short.
This episode sees the return of author Greg Bishop and the entire 6DJK hosting team to talk about the recent disclosure the the American people on the Pentagon’s until very recently secret UFO study.
And we -do- talk about that! Really! Honestly, we do.
Aaaand, then we go off topic.
Well, not really completely off topic. We’re still talking about the UFO phenomena, but we also talk about art and artists.
Just like last time.
You knew it was going to happen—you get a couple of artists, a history major and someone with a degree in art history together and somebody is gonna start talking about art. It just…it happens. And it’s usually interesting, because here, we are talking about a few things related to UFO’s. First, we talk about how they elicit deeply emotional responses in humans (like art does), which is something that most government disclosure advocates seem to ignore about UFOs.
And then we talk about how UFO’s inspire people to create things, like you know, art.
And that’s where we get into some artist’s whose work I’m gonna have to show you, because Greg and the Weird Podcasting Sisters talked about.
Greg tells us about going to see a show of the art of 20th century artist Paulina Peavy—who was apparently a UFO contactee. Yes. And she was inspired by a channeled discarnate entity named Lacamo who “travelled on an etherian ship.” This all started happening with her in the 1930’s—-before Kenneth Arnold’s sighting that ushered in the UFO and contactee movement of the 1940’s and 1950’s.
Paulina was WAAAAY ahead of her time. And her art is fantastic—follow the links and read up about her. It is well worth your time, I promise you.
And then, Greg also tells us about the art of Remedios Varo—a Surrealist from Spain who expatriated to Mexico in the middle of the 20th century. He tells us how seeing her work in Mexico right before the COVID lockdown began affected him and he specifically mentions one of her works—pictured below.
So, we did talk about UFO disclosure, UFOs and art and what else?
Books! Of course, we talked about books.
One of the two books we talked about in particular was Greg’s book, Project Beta: The Story of Paul Bennewitz, National Security and the Creation of a UFO Myth, which very strongly colors Greg’s thoughts on this whole disclosure thing. It’s also a cautionary tale and a very deep dive into the kind of manipulation of information that the intelligence agencies can get into when it comes to UFO’s. And, it’s a cracking good read that sounds like some plotlines that you’d see on old X-Files episodes.
The second book we talked about is Dr. Jacques Vallee and Paola Harris’s new book, Trinity: The Best Kept Secret. Contrary to a lot of the buzz circulating about the book (often from people who haven’t even read it), Barbara’s read it and found it to be classic Vallee—readable, enjoyable and plausible.
So here we are. We hope you enjoy this episode!
