Episode 71: Belief is the Enemy with Zelia Edgar and Steve Ward

“All Seeing Eye” Detail of a mixed media collage by Barbara Fisher. I used pieces from other episode collages, photographed and printed out in color on my laser printer, then glued onto a black canvas. Paint and ink were added to give depth and detail to the piece.

It’s that time of year again—time for the John Keel’s Birthday Episode!

This time, rather than do what we did last year and have lots of interviews with lots of people and then edit it all together into a scripted whole, I decided to talk with two of the biggest Keel fans I know of who I couldn’t get ahold of to be part of the episode last year: Zelia Edgar and Steve Ward.

So, you get to hear Zelia, Steve and myself talk about what John’s famous aphorism, “Belief is the enemy” means to us as investigators, researchers, writers, podcasters and youtubers. And then, we go off the rails, and talk all things Keel, and have a great time doing it. Lots of reminisces, lots of stories, lots of high strangeness.

All the good stuff.

And here’s a list of the books mentioned in the episode—because you know, I hate to think of y’all having to go back and listen and try to write down the titles later.

The Great Phonograph in the Sky by John Keel
Daimonic Reality by Patrick Harpur
They Live in the Sky by Trevor James Constable
Worlds in Collision by Immanuel Velikovsky
Jadoo by John Keel
The Big Blackout by John Keel
The Big Breakthrough by John Keel
