Episode 140: Haunted at Buck Creek with Professor WHAM

Professor WHAM is back and she’s come with some amazing stories about a place where she lived long ago. Out in the middle of nowhere in Kansas, in a secluded valley that is barely inhabited by people, in a little house in a valley, she and her partner lived while working and going to grad school.

And they soon discovered, separately and then together, that while there weren’t many people who lived there, there was plenty of wildlife. Lots of beautiful native plants.

And other things. Uncanny things. Weird things. That escalated in intensity as time went on.

So many things happened there, and it changed both of their lives.

Professor WHAM wrote a blog post about this place that you should read. It’s what inspired me to ask her on the show to talk about these experiences—because as I read them, they reminded me of what happened to Zak and I and our friends in our Falling Down the Hill House here in Athens.

That place changed our lives, too.
